Medeama SC new head coach Nebojsa Kapor believes the club is capable of winning trophies this season.
The Ghana champions confirmed the appointment of the Bosnia and Herzegovina international as their new coach on a one-year renewable contract on Wednesday.
He replaces Augustine Evans Adotey who has been in charge of head coaching duties a few games into last season, winning their first ever Ghana Premier League title and leading them to the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
The 37-year-old’s immediate task will be to lead Medeama to amass some points from their outstanding league games and cover the gap on the league table.
Speaking after his appointment was announced, Kapor expressed determination to lead the club to silverware this season.
“…it’s time for another hand to continue from where he (Evans Adotey) left of in our pursuit to achieve excellence. I have a fair idea of the kind of talents at the club and we hope to do our best to make it count.
“We can and we’ll challenge for trophies this season. We have few games to cover up to the numbers of the teams on top of the table and so we’ll see how it goes.
“Like I said, it’s a collective job and we’ll hope to set this club up for laurels.”
