Salim Adams is letting his football do the talking and the message is clear: he’s ready for the Black Stars.
The 23-year-old midfielder has emerged as one of the Ghana Premier League’s standout performers this season, powering Medeama SC’s push for domestic glory with five goals in 19 appearances.
Since his arrival in Tarkwa at the start of the 2025/26 campaign, Adams has become central to coach Ibrahim Tanko’s plans, delivering energy, goals and consistency from midfield.
With the 2026 FIFA World Cup on the horizon, calls are intensifying for his inclusion in Ghana’s senior national team. And Adams is embracing the momentum.
“It’s positive for me,” he said amid calls for his Black Stars inclusion. “This shows I’m doing well, so I have to keep pushing. I’m 100 percent prepared for a Black Stars call-up.”
Adams’ rise has been steady. After making his name at New Edubiase United, he secured a move to Hearts of Oak in 2021, where his dynamic style caught attention.
A subsequent loan spell at FC Cincinnati 2 in the United States further broadened his experience.
He has also tasted national colours before, scoring once in two outings for Ghana’s U23 side.
Now in peak form and brimming with confidence, Adams is positioning himself as a serious contender for a first senior cap, determined to turn public backing into a long-awaited Black Stars breakthrough.
