Medeama Sporting Club has joined the nation in mourning the eight lives lost in a tragic helicopter crash on Wednesday.
The club paid tribute to the key national figures who died, including two Cabinet Ministers, senior officials, and brave Air Force personnel.
“Medeama SC mourns the tragic loss of key national figures in Wednesday’s military helicopter crash… Our hearts go out to their families. May their souls rest in peace,” the club posted on social media.
The victims include Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Environment Minister Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, and other prominent figures.
President John Dramani Mahama has declared a three-day national mourning period, with burial arrangements underway.
The Ghana Armed Forces confirmed the helicopter crash near Sikaman in the Ashanti Region, resulting in the deaths of all onboard, including the crew members Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manaen Twum Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.
