Mbappe’s name on a ballot for French presidential election

Despite having nothing to do with the just-concluded French elections, PSG stars Kylian Mbappe’s name was found on a ballot for French presidential election.

French publication L’Est Républicain reports that the 23-year-old’s name was on a ballot for the second round of the French presidential election in his small village of Tallenay. The report added that the Ligue 1 champions’ top-scorers fans got 10 of the 348 voters registered there.

The ballot papers were invalid, given that the run-off was pitting incumbent president Emmanuel Macron against far-right candidate Marine Le Pen. Macron won the election overall and the second term in office, with 58.5% of votes cast in his favor.

This news has sparked excitement among PSG fans, who took to Twitter to trend ‘Mbappe for President’ despite the future of the player still remaining uncertain.

His deal with the French giants end in June and it has been widely reported that Real Madrid are interested in scooping the player even though PSG has tabled a new offer that might make him the highest football player in the world.
