Former Black Stars assistant coach Maxwell Konadu is in advanced negotiations to take over as head coach of Hearts of Oak
Konadu, who most recently managed Black Leopards in South Africa, is the club’s top target to replace Aboubakar Ouattara, who is likely to be reassigned as technical director in a potential reshuffle aimed at revitalizing the club.
An agreement in principle is reportedly in place, though some final details ; including internal dynamics between Konadu and Ouattara are still being resolved. Konadu is said to be cautious about working under the Ivorian due to differences in stature and experience.
The 52-year-old brings a wealth of local and international experience, including recent success with Nsoatreman FC, and stints as head coach of Ghana’s U-23 side and assistant to the Black Stars under multiple managers.
Hearts of Oak are aiming to rebuild after an inconsistent campaign, finishing fourth this season. The potential appointment of Konadu is seen as a bold step toward returning to title contention.
A final announcement is expected once the remaining issues are ironed out.
