Former Asante Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu has welcomed the new production partnership between the Ghana Football Association and Adesa Productions Limited, describing it as a timely move to transform local football.
“This has been long overdue,” Konadu said after the deal’s launch on Thursday. “It’s a very, very good initiative. Once it starts, it will help a lot of youth and go a long way in sustaining clubs.”
He praised the partnership for potentially easing financial pressure on club owners and improving the livelihoods of players.
“I believe this will help improve the average salary of the Ghanaian footballer. This is what we’ve all been advocating for,” he added.
Under the new agreement, each Ghana Premier League club is expected to receive GHS 1 million before the start of the season. Three matches will be shown live every weekend, with the rest repackaged into highlights.
