Match Report: Kotoko suffer 2-0 defeat to Al Hilal after first friendly match in Sudan

Ghana Premier League champions, Asante Kotoko have stepped up pre-season training in Sudan.

The Kumasi-based club has travelled to Sudan for the second phase of the team’s pre-season training to prepare for the start of the 2022/23 football season.

Today, Asante Kotoko played the first of a series of friendly matches scheduled to be played in Sudan before the team returns to Ghana.

In a game against Al Hilal, Asante Kotoko put up a good performance but it was the home side that enjoyed the victory.

A goal in each half was enough to propel Al Hilal to a 2-0 win at the end of the 90 minutes of football at the Omdurman Stadium.

After today’s friendly, Asante Kotoko will face off with Al Hilal again on Friday.

Subsequently, the Porcupine Warriors club will play two additional friendlies before travelling to Ghana to gear up for the start of the new football season.
