Massive World Cup boost for Ghana as winger Andre Ayew begins training at Marseille

Ghana have been given a massive boost ahead of their participation in June’s World Cup as injured winger Andre Ayew stepped up his recovery by starting light training session at Marseille first the first time in two months.

The 24-year-old took to the race with the club’s fitness coach Federic Faure on Monday as he steps up his recovery after suffering an injury while playing for his country.

His return to training means he should be fit to play some matches for Marseille by next month, paving the way for him to be in top shape for the World Cup in Brazil.

Ayew has been out of the team following a meniscus operation in November last year.

The second of Ghana legend Abedi Pele is seen as the livewire of the French side as they have struggled without him.

His return to the pitch will excite manager Jose Anigo, who has been keen to have the talisman back in his fold.

The Ghana ace will continue with his physical session on Tuesday as he is expected to return to full action in early February.
