The Vice President of the Ghana Football Association Mark Addo has called on the government to invest in the Ghana Premier League.
According to the football administrator, a $50m yearly financial investment in to the Ghanaian top flight will help the league thrive.
Addo comment comes after its widely circulated in the media space that betPawa, the current headline sponsor of the Ghana Premier League, plans to exit the deal after just one year
“The government has to come in. We live in a country where our finances are so stretched but we have to keep pushing to see if government can put in $50m every year towards the league” he told Luv Sports.
The football governing body are yet to react to the speculated withdrawal of Betpawa as the Premier League’s headline sponsor.
