Manchester United welcome Everton to Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon, with the two clubs battling at opposite ends of the Premier League table.

The Red Devils find themselves fourth – three points clear of fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur – and remain on course to secure Champions League football.

At the bottom end of the standings, Everton are one of four sides with 27 points and sit just outside the relegation zone on goal difference.

Manchester United ended a run of three Premier League games without a win by claiming a crucial 1-0 victory over Brentford on Wednesday.

Following a 7-0 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool, Erik ten Hag’s men drew with Southampton before losing to Newcastle United, so Wednesday’s win was vitally important.

It is worth noting, however, that Man Utd have lost just three of their last 15 Premier League clashes, picking up nine wins and three draws in the process.

The Red Devils have also avoided defeat in each of their previous 24 home matches across all competitions, underlining their solidity at Old Trafford.

As for Everton, they snatched a late draw against Tottenham in midweek, courtesy of a 90th-minute thunderbolt from centre-back Michael Keane.

Still, the Toffees have only managed to win one of their last six Premier League outings, recording three draws and two defeats along the way.

When you look at the bigger picture, Everton have claimed just three victories in their last 17 Premier League encounters.

Worse yet, Sean Dyche’s men are the joint-lowest scorers in the division, having netted a measly 23 goals in 29 games this season (0.79 goals per game).

Head-to-head: Everton have only managed to win one of their last nine meetings with Manchester United in all competitions.

To make matters worse for the Toffees, Man Utd have scored over 1.5 goals in each of their previous eight victories in this fixture.

Team news: Alejandro Garnacho, Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek are all injured for Man Utd, while Casemiro is suspended.

Meanwhile, Everton are currently without the injured duo of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Andros Townsend, while Abdoulaye Doucoure is suspended.

Although Everton are fighting for their lives at the bottom end of the table, the Red Devils are expected to flex their muscles and heap more misery on the Toffees.

With that in mind, Forebet predicts that Manchester United will score over 1.5 goals and keep a clean sheet on their way to seeing off Everton.
