An English media has made a revelation about Cristiano Ronaldo’s summer transfer window. Manchester United were willing to part ways with the Portuguese striker.
In the midst of a conflict with Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo could have left the English club during the last summer transfer window. According to website information ESPN, the Red Devils had given the green light for a departure in the offseason of the 37-year-old Portuguese striker, absent from the group against Chelsea due to behavior deemed inappropriate. Owners of Manchester United, the Glazer family was even willing to part with the native of Funchal without recovering a single penny, therefore by terminating his current contract still until June 2023 (+ twelve months in option).
“Cristiano remains an important part of the team”
The Mancunian staff thus wanted to facilitate the departure of the former resident of Real Madrid, who returned to Old Trafford in August 2021 against a check for 17 million euros. Despite numerous rumors, no training has managed to complete the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, a deal weighed down by the substantial salary of the main interested party who currently earns around 500,000 pounds per week (575,000 euros). If Manchester United has failed to find him a base, will “CR7” leave Erik ten Hag’s squad next January?
In a press conference, the Dutch coach said he ruled out a departure next winter. “He is ruled out for this game and then we continue. It’s a strike. As we said in the press release, Cristiano remains an important part of the team and I count on him for the rest of the season. We want to fulfill our ambitions.” Manchester United’s message may change as the future transfer market approaches. In France, Olympique Lyonnais would think of securing his services.
Since the start of the 2022-2023 season, Cristiano Ronaldo has scored only two small goals in twelve games in all competitions, for only one achievement in eight Premier League games.
