Manchester City have agreed a deal worth up to £34.2m to sign Palmeiras winger Allan Elias.
The Premier League club will pay an initial £32m for the 22-year-old Brazilian, with a further £2.2m available in add-ons. Allan is expected to undergo a medical in the coming days before the transfer can be completed.
He is set to arrive as a replacement for fellow Brazilian Savinho, who looks set to leave City for Tottenham.
The agreement for Allan represents a fixed-fee commitment from Manchester City, while the additional payments will depend on the terms of the add-ons included in the deal. The transfer remains subject to the medical and the completion of the outstanding formalities.
City are also continuing discussions with Tottenham over the possible sale of Egypt forward Omar Marmoush. Sources with knowledge of the situation say there is a “good chance” the deal will be completed before the 1 September transfer deadline.
However, negotiations between the two clubs are still taking place, and some details have yet to be agreed. Marmoush’s potential move is therefore not yet finalised, despite the expectation that progress could be made before the window closes.
The activity involving Allan and Marmoush could see Manchester City make significant changes to their attacking options during the transfer window. Allan would provide a new wide option following Savinho’s expected departure, while Marmoush could move in the opposite direction if an agreement is reached between City and Tottenham.
The transfer business may not end there for Manchester City. Midfielder Nico Gonzalez could also leave Etihad Stadium before the end of the window, with Newcastle showing strong interest in the Spaniard.
That situation remains separate from the agreement for Allan, and there is no indication that Gonzalez’s future has been decided. Newcastle’s interest is described as strong, but the midfielder’s possible departure is still dependent on developments before the deadline.
For now, Allan’s move from Palmeiras is the clearest agreement in place. Manchester City have settled on the fee structure for the winger and are preparing for his medical, while discussions continue over Marmoush’s potential transfer to Tottenham and Newcastle’s interest in Gonzalez.
