Deloitte has published the ranking of the ten most powerful clubs on the European continent. Manchester City dominates the competition, ahead of Real Madrid and Liverpool. Paris Saint-Germain are in fifth place.
Bis repeated for Manchester City. For the second consecutive year, the Mancunian club occupies first place in the ranking of the richest clubs on the European continent. According to a study published by Deloittethe Citizens generated a turnover of 731 million euros in 2021-2022, an increase of 13% in twelve months. “Manchester City retain their position at the top of the Money League and for the second time were the highest earning club in world football. It caps a rapid rise in the rankings, with the club only breaking into the top five in 2015/16. This growth was fueled by an increase in commercial revenue (up €65m to €373m in 2021/22), which is a new Premier League record.”
The reigning English champion is ahead of Real Madrid. Champion of Spain and title holder of the Champions League, the club of the Spanish capital has a turnover of 713.8 million euros. The podium is completed by Liverpool and its 701.7 million euros in revenue. In the midst of a ranking crushed by the behemoths of the Premier League, the English championship placing six clubs in the Top 10 and even eleven teams in the Top 20, Paris Saint-Germain occupy fifth place with a figure of business of 654.2 million euros. The Ligue 1 leader’s revenues increased by 18% compared to the previous balance sheet. Paris is unsurprisingly the only formation of the French championship present in this ranking.
