Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League: Faith Ladies stop Hasaacas, Berry Ladies beat Ridge City – Southern Zone results

Resilient Faith Ladies defeated former champions, Hasaacas Ladies 1-0 to go level with the Southern Zone leaders. Hasaacas Ladies travelled to the Dansoman park in the final round of matches in the first round of the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League aiming to extend their lead at the top of the table before the break. Jennifer Kankam scored in the first half to hand the host all the points. Faith Ladies will go into the second round with 19 points, same as the League leaders.

Berry Ladies picked up a third straight win as they defeated Ridge City 4:1 at the Madina Astro turf. The host dominated their opponent who are yet to pick up a win after 9 round of matches. Mabel Amoyaw, Portia Sakyiwaa and new signing, Rahama Jafaru were on the scoresheet for the host whilst Celestina Boye pulled one back through the spot for Ridge City.

Meanwhile Army Ladies proved too strong for Police Ladies in the service derby as they recorded a 2-0 win at the Teshie Mats Park. Police Ladies have been poor this season with only two wins thus far and lie 8th in the League table. Army Ladies continued their fine form this season whilst Relegation pressure intensifies for Police Ladies.
