Malcom became the first player in Al Hilal’s history to contribute to five goals in the opening rounds of the Roshn Saudi League, marking a landmark achievement as speculation continues over his possible departure this summer.

The Brazilian winger scored Al Hilal’s second goal in their 4-2 victory over Al-Faisaly at Kingdom Arena on Friday, in the opening round of the competition.

His strike was the only Al Hilal goal scored from open play. Malcom took advantage of an error in the Al-Faisaly defence in the 26th minute before finishing expertly into the net.

The achievement, reported by Roshn Saudi League broadcasters Thmanyah, placed Malcom at the top of a significant Al Hilal record. He is now the first player in the club’s history to have contributed to five goals across the opening rounds of the Roshn Saudi League.

Malcom reached the milestone while his future at the club remains the subject of growing uncertainty during the current summer transfer window. His name has been linked with a move to Al-Diriyah, as well as a possible return to Brazil or transfers to clubs in Qatar or the United Arab Emirates.

No departure has been confirmed, but the speculation has added significance to the winger’s latest contribution for Al Hilal. His goal helped the club begin their Roshn Saudi League campaign with a four-goal performance and a victory over Al-Faisaly.

Malcom joined Al Hilal in the summer of 2023 after moving from Russian club Zenit. Since arriving in Saudi Arabia, he has helped the club win five trophies.

Those honours include the Roshn Saudi League, two King’s Cup titles and two Saudi Super Cup successes. His latest goal therefore added to both his personal record and his contribution to the club’s latest competitive campaign.

The result against Al-Faisaly gave Al Hilal a winning start to the league season, with Malcom’s effort forming an important part of the opening-day success. It also ensured that his name was added to the club’s history books at a time when his long-term future is still unclear.

For now, Malcom remains an Al Hilal player and has begun the new Roshn Saudi League campaign by setting a record no other player in the club’s history has achieved.
