On Sunday night, Lyon hosts Lens at the Groupama Stadium in a potentially pivotal game in the visitor’s Ligue One season.

OL have experienced an inconsistent campaign in the French top flight, as the home team currently sits in ninth place in the table, eight points adrift of the league’s European qualification spots.

However, Laurent Blanc’s team goes into this game on the back of a five-game unbeaten run in all competitions. Last time out, Lyon beat Lille on penalty kicks to progress in the Coupe de France.

When it comes to Ligue One, OL have been hard to beat in the French top flight, as they are unbeaten in three league games, having lost just one of their previous five matches.

Lyon’s recent home form has been poor, though, as OL has won just once in their last seven matches in Ligue One, having failed to win in their previous four outings on home soil.

The visitors are still well placed in the French top flight, despite some underwhelming recent form in Ligue One. However, a 1-1 draw and penalty defeat last time out at Lorient means Lens have failed to win in their previous four matches in all competitions.

Frank Haise’s team is currently in third place in the Ligue One table, despite winning just one of their last five league games. On the flip side, Lens have lost just one of their previous 12 matches in the French top flight.

They are unbeaten in six away games in Ligue One, although their last four matches have finished in draws.

Lens’ recent away games have been low-scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in seven of their previous nine league matches on their travels.

What does Forebet predict?

Forebet predicts that these two teams will play out a low-scoring draw, hindering Lens’ chances of remaining in the Champions League qualifying spot for much longer.
