Turkey Expected to Ease to Another Victory in League C Over Luxembourg

Turkey will look to keep up their extraordinary run in the Nations League this weekend as they travel to the Stade de Luxembourg where a Luxembourg side right below them in the table awaits with the winner of this one set to move to the top of the table.

The Nations League League C Group 1 side of things has been one of the most appealing so far.

As of now, both the Faroe Islands and Lithuania sit bottom of the table without having scored a single goal, while also tasting defeats to both Turkey and Luxembourg early on.

It has put both countries on exactly six points so far, but with Turkey boasting a stunning 10 goals from only two games, they sit top of this League C table and are easily the most in-form side in the Nations League so far. What’s more, Turkey haven’t conceded a single goal in the tournament either.

They were the clear favourites to win this group before a ball was kicked, simply because they boast such a greater pedigree over the other three nations in this group.

This has been proven very true, as Turkey smashed the Faroe Islands on the opening day with goals from Cengiz Under, Halil Dervisoglu, Sedar Dursun, and Merih Demiral.

Turkey only improved on this excellent form when they met with Lithuania in the last round, as Dursun got another brace, just as Dervisoglu scored once more, before Yunus Akgun and Dogukan Sinik scored – the latter helped himself to two goals.

Turkey have also entered this set of fixtures without a few top players who would normally be at the heart of the team. Burak Yılmaz, Ozan Tufan, Okay Yokuşlu, and Mert Cetin are all out through injury, and it only makes things more commendable for manager Stefan Kuntz.

Luxembourg must be praised too, however, despite Turkey’s clear superiority in this group. They edged past the Faroe Islands in the last game with a penalty from star man, Gerson Rodrigues, in what was a fairly comfortable game for Luc Holtz’s side to deal with, despite the low scoreline.

Lithuania came in the first game of the Nations League for them, and Danel Sinani was the difference as the Huddersfield Town star continued his excellent club form with a brace that won it for his country.

It’s hard to look past another Turkey victory here, as they look too good for everyone in this group. Forebet predicts a win for them here and for the game to see under 2.5 goals.
