Former Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko, Samuel Opoku Nti has urged the club’s supporters to lower their expectations in the CAF Champions league.
The two-time winners of the competition are back on Africa’s inter-club biggest stage following their Ghana Premier League triumph last term.
They kick off their campaign against RC Kadiogo in Benin at the General Mathieu Kéréku friendship stadium on Monday.
Despite dominating the domestic league, Opoku Nti wants fans to be cautiously optimistic.
“As for expectation, you need to lower it but to give your maximum support to them because you can’t immediately start from number two, number three, you have to start from number one.
“Everyone would expect that we win but they also need our support to push the players so that our expectation will not come short but they will come out with flying colours.” Nti spoke to Luv FM.
Kotoko head into the clash with over eleven signings in addition to some new faces on the technical bench notably head coach Seydou Zerbo.
