Aston Villa manager Remi Garde has stated that the club would like to sign Chelsea forward Loic Remy on loan in January.
Remy has been a bit-part player at Stamford Bridge and has only played once and scored once in the league this season.
He has two league cup goals to his name this season. Garde has stated his interest in getting Remy to join the Villans who are currently bottom of the league in order to help them get more goals and wins to boost their chances of survival in the league.
“Loic is special because he knows the country and the league and he would be an interesting player for the team. “He is part of some players I’ll try to attract to Aston Villa for sure,” Garde said at his team’s pre-match press conference ahead of their match against Sunderland on Saturday.
Should the move succeed, Remy is expected to share goal-scoring duties with Jordan Ayew who is the club’s leading goal-getter with 5 so far in the season.
