Serbian Milovan Rajevac is in charge of the local Black Stars at the ongoing Championships of African Nations tournament going on in the Ivory Coast but Agyeman who was until last week in charge of technical affairs of Wise says those who handle local teams must be given bigger roles in the squad.
“We can be used for monitoring of other teams and our own players,” he told KickOffGhana.com.
“We need to be more involved in the recommendation of players because ultimately we are with the players on a daily basis at club level and know them better.”
Agyemang feels that failure to consult the men who handle the players directly has resulted in what he thinks is the selection of the wrong kind of players for the tournament.
“I cannot understand why Obed Ansah who has scored the most goals in our local league is not in the squad. While Rajevac is in charge, the rest of us have a big stake in how it all goes.”
Despite his misgivings about the squad, Agyemang says he expects the Black Stars to win their next two games against Libya and Congo DR and qualify for the last four of the competition.
