Liverpool have been dealt a major blow following the injury to Luis Diaz in Sunday’s loss to Arsenal in the English Premier League.
The Colombian winger had to be replaced in the first half at the Emirates Stadium after picking up a knock during the game.
Diaz was injured in a routine collision with Thomas Partey. The Colombian suffered ligament damage in his knee and faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
He is expected will miss up to eight weeks of action, meaning he will not play again until after the World Cup.
In eight Premier League games, Diaz has scored three goals, assisted on two others, and scored in the Champions League opening against Napoli.
