Bad news for Liverpool. Luis Diaz, who has not played since October 9 after injuring his knee during contact with Arsenal player Thomas Partey, felt discomfort in the same knee during training with his club Liverpool to Dubai. The Colombian had to return to England to undergo tests which confirmed the seriousness of the injury. The results of the examination were not really reassuring since the player of 25 would suffer from a rupture of the collateral ligament of the knee and he would have even been operated on yesterday in Liverpool, according to the latest indiscretions of Mundo Deportivo.
Jürgen Klopp also spoke about this sad news. “It’s a big disappointment for all of us. Mentally, it’s very hard for him. It happened during training. The next day, he was still in pain, so we did tests. And there, we took a slap”, said the coach of the Reds in particular. The Colombian international (37 caps for 8 achievements) should be absent for around 90 days and should therefore not return to the field before March, still according to the Spanish sports media. His presence against Real Madrid, in the knockout stages of the Champions League, is almost impossible, especially for the first leg, on February 21, 2023 at Anfield (the return will take place on March 15 at the Bernabéu stadium).
