Liverpool demands investigation into Champions League final chaos

Liverpool has demanded an investigation be launched by UEFA following the chaos witnessed on Saturday night when they took Real Madrid in this season’s Champions League final.

The Reds went down by a solitary goal in the match after the Kick-Off was delayed by half an hour following fans’ chaos prior to the game at Stade de France.

Queues stretched way outside the stadium as disorganization stopped supporters with tickets from getting through barriers on Saturday night, with police even using pepper spray, tear gas, batons, and shields in Paris.

In a statement, Liverpool noted: “We are hugely disappointed at the stadium entry issues and breakdown of the security perimeter that Liverpool fans faced this evening at Stade de France.

“This is the greatest match in European football and supporters should not have to experience the scenes we have witnessed tonight.

“We have officially requested a formal investigation into the causes of these unacceptable issues.”

Stewards and officials were believed to have been attempting to separate supporters with tickets from those looking to enter illegally.
