This week sees the start of another UEFA Nations League campaign and Saturday evening features this upcoming clash in League C Group 1 between Lithuania and Luxembourg at Vilniaus LFF stadionas with both teams looking to make a positive start to their Nations League campaign.
Lithuania were handed a 1-0 defeat away at Republic of Ireland last time out in a friendly back in March.

But the hosts return to home soil where they’ll be looking to rekindle the sort of form which saw them register wins against Bulgaria and San Marino in recent times.
However, Lithuania have found themselves on the losing side in no fewer than 12 of their last 15 matches in all competitions.
And despite holding supposed home advantage for this Saturday’s clash with Luxembourg, the hosts are by no means guaranteed a result on the weekend.
Form and results at home have also been disappointing as Lithuania have mustered only three victories out of their last 22 home games, only one of which was in a competitive match (a 3-1 win over Bulgaria in a World Cup qualifier).
Luxembourg will be looking to avoid a fourth straight defeat in all competitions on the weekend when they travel to Lithuania following defeats to Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Bosnia-Herzegovina respectively.
The visitors have won just three of their last 17 matches across all competitions but even this meagre return is better than their hosts have managed in recent times, picking up wins against Republic of Ireland and home and away wins over Azerbaijan.
After a lengthy time in the wilderness on the fringes of international success, Luxembourg have made improvements in recent times.
And this evident when looking at the visitors’ results away from home.
Luxembourg have won four out of their last 10 outings on the road and although they have lost the other six games within this period, these wins suggest that Luxembourg are more than capable of picking up at least a point on Saturday evening at the Vilniaus LFF stadionas, especially as the previous meeting between Lithuania and themselves ended in a stalemate.
The last meeting between these two nations ended in a 1-1 draw and a similar result could unfold here on Saturday evening.
