Greater Accra Regional Minister Linda Ocloo says this year’s President’s Cup between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko is more than just a football match ; it’s a celebration of national unity.
Speaking ahead of the clash set for Sunday, July 6 at the Accra Sports Stadium, Ocloo called on Ghanaians to fill the stands and show support not just for their teams, but for the country.
“This is a moment for togetherness,” she said on Peace FM. “Let’s honour President John Mahama with our presence, our passion, and our unity. Accra is ready ; let’s show it.”
The President’s Cup remains a key fixture on the local football calendar, bringing together fierce rivals and fans in a shared spirit of patriotism and sportsmanship.
