Lille are on a solid run of form in Ligue 1 ahead of matchday No 19 against Troyes. Les Dogues are unbeaten in five straight games and manager Paulo Fonseca will aim for a sixth straight match without a defeat on Sunday at home.

Troyes are 13th in the Ligue 1 standings ahead of the weekend trip to Lille. The Blues are fresh off a 2-0 midweek loss to third-place Marseille. Just one of Troyes’ last six games ended as a win in Ligue 1.

Lille and Troyes have met once this season in a Coupe de France cup fixture. However, the last time these teams met in the league in May 2022, Troyes shocked Lille in Ligue 1 play in August with a 3-0 home victory.

The match was remarkable as all three of Troyes’s goals were from penalties. Florian Tardieu scored twice from the spot and Ike Ugbo add another. Lille forward Burak Yilmaz was sent off in the second half with a straight red card.

The cup match between these sides in January ended 2-0 in favour of Lille. Jonathan David and Mohamed Bayo scored on either side of halftime.

Lille took nine points from the last six games. Although Les Dogues are unbeaten in five straight games, three of those matches ended as draws. Lille scored just five times and conceded three goals in their last six matches.

Fonseca’s team is playing fantastically at home. Lille have a 5W-2D-2L record at home this season with 16 goals scored and 16 against. Les Dogues are unbeaten in six straight matches in the league ahead of Troyes’ arrival.

Troyes took five points from the last six games in Ligue 1. The Blues were outscored 11-8 by opponents in their last six games in Ligue 1. Troyes have not played well on the road this season with just three wins and six defeats in nine games on their travels.

Manager Patrick Kisnorbo, who took over in November for Bruno Irles after coaching Australia’s Melbourne City, has two players on the injury list. Midfielder Lucien Agoume is a double with an unknown injury. Karim Azamoum is out with an ACL injury.

Fonseca has four players on the injury list, as Jonas Martin and Gabriel Gudmundsson are both ruled out with injuries. Defender Jose Fonte has a thigh injury and could miss the game. Forward Jonathan Bamba is a major doubt with a calf injury.

Lille are on a solid run of form and recently won 2-0 in the Coupe de France against Troyes. Les Dogues should put two goals by Troyes once more with a 2-1 win at full-time.
