Lille OSC vs OGC Nice – 31/08/2022

Lille to get the better of Nice in a tight contest

2321

On Wednesday night, Lille host Nice at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy as the visitors look for their first Ligue One win of the new league campaign.

Lille

LOSC have made a mixed start to the Ligue One campaign, picking up seven points from their opening four league matches. Paulo Fonseca’s team bounced back from a 7-1 home trouncing by PSG by recording a 3-1 win at Ajaccio last time out.

Lille have been relatively hard to beat in recent weeks, as the PSG loss is their only defeat in six matches in Ligue One.

LOSC’s recent home form has been highly inconsistent, as Lille have won just two of their previous eight home games in the French top-flight. Their recent league games at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy have been high-scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in their last four home league matches. Both teams have also scored in those four matches on home soil.

Nice

The visitors have made an underwhelming start to the new Ligue One campaign, having failed to win any league matches this season. They opened their campaign with draws against Toulouse and Strasbourg before two straight losses against Clermont and Marseille. The poor early season results mean that Nice have won just once in their last six Ligue One matches going back to last season.

They have also failed to keep a clean sheet in their previous seven matches in Ligue One.

Nice have struggled for wins on their travels in Ligue One of late, winning just two of their last ten league matches away from home. Their most recent games in Ligue One have been low-scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in four of their previous five away matches.

What does Forebet predict?

Forebet predicts that Lille will record a victory in a high-scoring encounter to extend Nice’s winless run to five games in Ligue One this season.
