Let’s remain calm; God is fighting the battle for us – Dr. Kwaku Frimpong to Ashgold fans

The bankroller of embattled Ashanti Gold SC, Dr. Kwaku Frimpong has called on supporters to remain calm as they challenge the team’s demotion to Division Two in Court.

The Obuasi-based club has dragged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to court after the team was demoted to the lower-tier league from the Ghana Premier League.

The club insists that contrary to the claim that it is guilty of match-fixing with Inter Allies FC, it is innocent.

Speaking to Akoma FM, Dr. Kwaku Frimpong said he has no doubt God will fight the battle for the club.

“God is fighting for us, let us all remain calm and wait for the court to pass its rightful judgement.

“It is only the court that can decide whether the GFA has the power to ban ASHGOLD, please remember that the courts of our land are powerful than any other body including GFA,” Dr. Kwaku Frimpong said.

The Ashanti Gold SC owner added, “I can’t go into the substantive matter because I do not want to be cited for contempt to court. The court will give justice to all Ghanaians who have been cheated by the GFA.

“ASHGOLD fans should remain calm and wait for the decision of the court because it is only at the court that the real truth will be told and justice done.”

Due to the court action, the Ghana Football Association has been forced to suspend the 2022/23 Premier League season today, Thursday, September 29.
