Ghana’s 2-0 win over Rwanda on Saturday secured courtesy Ransford Osei’s brace ensures Ghana will play at the World Youth Championships for the first time since finishing as losing finalists to Argentina in 2001.
Tetteh had sent his team out to Rwanda with qualification for the world cup his key objective, but now says they must go for the kill.
_quote Amidst intense celebration on the team bus, he said: “Thank you boys for a good job done today. You did yourselves and your nation proud today.
“Now mission number one is accomplished, so you can rest and training resumes on Monday before we return to the same stadium to win on Wednesday and then go on to win the trophy and write yourselves into the history books.”
Ghana will discover their semifinal opponents after Sunday’s final group games, but Tetteh is confident his team has enough to face whoever comes their way.
“If our three games have shown anything, it is that we can be patient and disciplined when it’s required. We went through the 90 minutes against Rwanda without making a change because we were patient and hit them when it mattered most.
“Whoever we face in the semifinal, we will do so with a lot of confidence and belief,” he told KickOffGhana.com.
