Swedish-Ghanaian centre-back Leon Hien has joined Troms IL from Djurgarden on loan, beginning a move that takes the 25-year-old defender from Sweden’s Allsvenskan to Norway’s Eliteserien.

Hien’s transfer was completed on 5 August 2026, with the loan scheduled to run until 31 December. He returns to Djurgarden at the end of the arrangement, having signed for the Stockholm club from Degerfors earlier in the year.

The 1.88m defender made five appearances in the Allsvenskan during the 2026 campaign before switching clubs. He scored no goals and registered no assists in those matches, playing 132 minutes in total.

Hien is a right-footed central defender who was born in Stockholm and holds Swedish and Ghanaian nationality. His move gives Troms IL another defensive option for the remainder of the Norwegian season, while Djurgarden retain his registration beyond the loan period.

Before joining Djurgarden, Hien spent a year with Degerfors after moving there from Norwegian club Odd in January 2025. Degerfors paid €80,000 for the defender, who later moved to Djurgarden in a deal valued at €550,000.

His time at Odd followed a spell with Hammarby TFF, where he had developed after progressing through Hammarby’s system. Hien also spent periods on loan at IK Frej Taby and Hammarby TFF earlier in his career before establishing himself in senior football.

Troms IL’s move places Hien in a new domestic competition and adds a player with experience in both Sweden and Norway to their defensive group. The transfer is his latest career move after two changes of club since the start of 2025.

Hien remains under contract with Djurgarden after his temporary switch to Troms IL, with the loan agreement ending on 31 December 2026.
