Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities FC have been fined GHC 8,000 following their misconduct on Matchday One against Medeama SC.
The sanction was imposed on them after their affiliates attacked referee Charles Bulu in the defeat to the Tarkwa-based club at the El-wak stadium.
The Royals were found guilty by the Ghana Football Association Disciplinary Committee on two counts consequently fined GHC 8000 after being found guilty and ordered to pay GHC2000 cedis to referee Bulu for misplacement of his car’s two tyres.
Maxwell Ampadu, a player who physically assaulted the match official has been handed a 5-match ban and will still serve his mandatory suspension as he was red carded.
The Ghana Premier League is currently halted after AshantiGold placed an injunction on the top-flight competition until October 14.
