Leeds United preparing to offer Daniel Farke new contract

Leeds United are reportedly prepared to offer Daniel Farke a new contract if the German can guide the Whites back to the Premier League.

Having been relegated to the Championship last season, Farke, 47, who penned a four-year deal last July, was tasked with getting the Yorkshire giants back to England’s top flight.

Although the German endured a tricky start to life at Elland Road winning just one of their first four league games, the former Norwich City boss managed to quickly turn things around.

Not only are the Whites through to the FA Cup Fifth Round where they will play Chelsea, but after winning all of their last seven league games, now sit inside the Championship’s automatic promotion play-off spots.

And according to a recent report from Football Insider, should Farke continue in the same way and clinch promotion at the end of the season, he will be offered fresh terms and a considerable pay rise, despite still having three-and-a-half years left on his current deal — not a bad incentive to finish the season strongly.

Since taking charge seven months ago, Buren-Steinhausen-born Farke has averaged 2.05 points per game; putting him comfortably among England’s best-performing managers.
