Leeds target Nicolas Raskin ‘looking for a transfer’ has ‘more than enough’ interest to make a move

Leeds United target Nicolas Raskin is reportedly ‘looking for a transfer’ away from current club Standard Liege in the summer.

Raskin has a good deal of experience for a 21-year-old. The midfielder has racked up 78 appearances for Standard Liege, and has contributed to 13 goals in his career so far.

Raskin missed just five league games this season, scoring once and providing four assists. He also has experience of playing in European competition, he scored against Benfica in last season’s Europa League.

That was one of four games he has played in the tournament.

The 21-year-old has gained interest from a number of sides. Leeds United were reportedly keen on him in the January window.

An update from Het Laatste Nieuws claims that the Belgian is ‘looking for a transfer’. He could have left previously, but opted to remain until the end of the season.

With his contract up at the end of the next campaign, though, it appears he will now leave. The report states that Standard’s attempts to renew his contract were ‘in vain’.

As such, he is likely going to be able to make the move away from the Belgian side.

Indeed, there is reportedly, ‘more than enough interest’ in him for a move to happen.

Leeds United may be a potential destination, given their reported interest previously.

Nicolas Raskin, Standard Liege, March 2022.

Leeds are one of the sides named in the report with interest in Raskin. Though they may find themselves locked into a battle, should they want to land him.

That is thanks to another couple of sides that are named. Genoa are one side that the report mentions have also shown an interest in the midfielder.

Interest from within Belgium is also mentioned. While the club is not named, the report states the ‘most likely’ option is Club Brugge, as they have been ‘looking for a new midfielder’ for some time.

Leeds could also benefit from a new holding midfield addition. Indeed, Kalvin Phillips is constantly being linked with a move away from the club, and if that is to happen, a replacement would be necessary.
