‘Kept us in it’ – Leeds fans single one player out for special praise after Crystal Palace

Leeds United’s supporters have flooded to social media on Monday evening, to single one member of the club’s squad out for special praise.

Jesse Marsch’s troops were of course back in action a short time ago.

Amid the club’s ongoing efforts to stave off relegation to the Championship, the Whites made the trip to Selhurst Park for a meeting with Crystal Palace, hopeful of making it five successive outings without defeat.

And, when all was said and done in south London, this is precisely what Leeds managed.

Though they didn’t quite manage to take all three points back to Yorkshire, a hard-fought display proved good enough for a share of the spoils, en route to a 0-0 stalemate.

Meslier hailed

Though they failed to find an all-important breakthrough in the clash, it was Crystal Palace, throughout lengthy stretches, who dominated proceedings at Selhurst Park this evening.

For Leeds, on the other hand, it proved something of a backs-to-the-wall job, one fronted in no small part by goalkeeper Illan Meslier.

The visitors’ no.1 shone across the 90 minutes, producing no fewer than seven saves to guide Marsch’s men to a point which could ultimately prove so crucial to their survival hopes.

And, as alluded to above, the club’s supporters have since been quick to make their appreciation for Meslier’s efforts clear, with the post-match highlights from across social media showcased below:
