Leaders Medeama were denied victory by a plucky Berekum Arsenal side in a pulsating 1-1 draw at the Golden City Park on Wednesday.
Striker Mohammed Tanko opened the scoring for the visitors with a 77th minute strike but the home side pulled level after just four minutes through Akwensi Bonsu.
It was a game of two halves as the Gunners controlled the tempo and enjoyed the chunk of possession in the first half.
But they could not break the resolute Medeama defense down as the attackers were kept at bay.
Medeama resumed the second re-energized and took their destiny into their own hands and in one of such forays saw an unmarked Tanko Mohammed slotting home the opener.
Chelsea responded positively and registered the equalizer in the 81st minute to share the spoils in an entertaining contest.
The draw however leaves Medeama still top of the table after Aduana Stars and Berekum Chelsea failed to take advantage.
Aduana were held at home by Hearts while Berekum Chelsea lost 2-0 at Kotoko.
