Eintracht Frankfurt say they are “excited” by the potential of Ghanaian midfielder Lawrence Setordjie after securing the 18-year-old from Accra Lions in a deal that underlines the Bundesliga club’s growing focus on African talent.
Setordjie, an attacking midfielder who has already captained Accra Lions and made more than 50 senior appearances in Ghana’s top flight, will begin his German adventure with Eintracht’s Under-21 side as he adapts to European football.
The transfer is being hailed not only in Frankfurt but also in Ghana, where Accra Lions’ reputation for exporting young talent to Europe continues to grow.

“Lawrence Setordjie is a young, talented player who has already gained experience at the senior level and captained the Accra Lions team last season,” Hardung said.
The club believe his playing profile is well suited to the demands of German football, with Hardung particularly impressed by the midfielder’s dynamism.
“His explosive speed, agility and clean technique bring exciting qualities that we see as offering further potential for development,” he added.
Setordjie caught Eintracht’s eye during Accra Lions’ European tour, where his performances stood out against higher-level opposition and accelerated Frankfurt’s decision to bring him to the Bundesliga club.

Eintracht Frankfurt have opted for a gradual integration plan, placing Setordjie initially in their U21 squad rather than pushing him straight into first-team contention.
