Sports journalist Saddick Adams and his employer, Angel Broadcasting Network, are currently without legal representation in the ongoing defamation suit filed by former Ghana international John Paintsil.
Crabbe & Co, the law firm initially representing the two defendants, has officially withdrawn from the case. Sources close to the firm confirmed the decision, although no public explanation has been offered.
Paintsil is demanding GHS25 million in damages; GHS20 million from Angel FM and GHS5 million from Saddick Adams; over alleged defamatory remarks made on the station’s platforms, which he claims have caused serious harm to his reputation.
Court records reveal that both defendants have yet to file their witness statements, in violation of court directives.
With the case set to resume in October 2025, legal analysts warn that failure to secure new counsel could force Saddick Adams and Angel Broadcasting Network to appear in court personally to respond to the claims.
