LaLiga president: Mbappe will join Real Madrid

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe will join Real Madrid this summer, according to LaLiga president Javier Tebas.

Madrid have been chasing for the signature for the longest and now the Los Blancos have been given hopes of landing the Frenchman after refusing to sign a new contract with PSG. Mbappe is set to become a free agent this summer and Tebas believes he will end up joining Madrid.

“Madrid will get Mbappe and [Erling] Haaland as the others [Barcelona and Juventus] are half [financially] ruined,” he said.

“That Mbappe comes is great news for LaLiga. It would be a joy for LaLiga. It’s the best thing that could happen to LaLiga.”

However, Tebas went ahead and said he doesn’t have facts on Mbappe’s possible switch.

“I have no information regarding Mbappe,” Tebas said.

“But I’ve seen few cases of players who have six months left on their contracts that have not renewed their contracts and then went on to continue at the club.”

Madrid’s €200 million bid for Mbappe was knocked back by PSG last summer.
