Dr. Randy Abbey, an Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has highlighted the positive impact of Kwesi Appiah’s inclusion on the council. Appiah, the former Ghana coach, was elected to represent Premier League clubs in the 2023 Elective Council in Tamale.
Appiah, who currently serves as the head coach of the Sudanese national team, is also the technical director of Asante Kotoko and the chairman of the four-member Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the club.
Dr. Abbey expressed his belief in Appiah’s contributions, stating, “Kwesi Appiah is a legend as a player. He captained the Black Stars and has made significant contributions to the country. Even as a coach, he worked with me.”
He further highlighted their successful collaboration, saying, “The first-ever international trophy that I won as a chairman of a national team was with Kwesi Appiah, during the All African Games in Maputo in 2011. He brings a unique perspective to the table, considering his experience as a player and from a technical standpoint.”
