Former Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has confirmed that he is in discussions with Asante Kotoko regarding the vacant coaching role.
The team has been without a permanent coach since the dismissal of Seydou Zerbo, who was fired after a 2-0 defeat to Medeama SC at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Abdul Gazale has been serving as interim boss in the meantime.
Appiah, who is also a club legend, stated that he cannot demand the head coaching position without the knowledge of Asante Kotoko’s CEO, Nana Yaw Amponsah.
He has played for the club for several years and has been in and out of the organization. He also mentioned that he has held discussions with the club in recent months, but he has been waiting to see what happens as he has received two other offers.
Appiah has been unattached to any team since leaving Kenpong Soccer Academy earlier this year.
