Ghanaian midfielder Kwasi Sibo has shared his admiration for Kylian Mbappé, describing the French forward as one of the most humble footballers he has encountered on the pitch.
The Real Oviedo player had the rare opportunity to face Mbappé earlier this season when his side clashed with Real Madrid in the Spanish La Liga.
Despite Oviedo’s defeat, the match left a lasting impression on the Ghanaian, who later swapped shirts with the World Cup winner.
In an exclusive conversation with Joy Sports, Sibo opened up about the experience of competing against two of the game’s brightest stars, Mbappé and Vinícius Jr.
“[Kylian Mbappé is] a very humble guy. A very quiet and focused person. His humility is at a different level. In the game, even if you touch or foul him, he will just look at you and move on. Also, when you speak to him, he responds. He speaks different languages. I feel he is a humble person,” Sibo said.
He further explained how Mbappé’s calm demeanor contrasts with Vinícius Jr.’s fiery approach.
“He is very difficult [to mark]. He has quick feet, and it’s very difficult to handle. He is fast, intelligent, and he is a finisher.
Vinicius is just the same. He’s a speedster and very difficult to mark, but their attitudes are different. Mostly, Vinicius gets offended by the chants from the fans.
I think sometimes the way he reacts and talks back to the opponent makes the fans always chant against him, but Kylian is different.”
