Prosper Harrison Addo, the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has provided clarification regarding the involvement of former Ghana coach Kwasi Appiah, a member of the Executive Council, in the selection process for the new coach of the Black Stars.
This clarification follows concerns raised over Appiah’s exclusion from a recently formed five-member committee tasked with identifying a suitable candidate for the coaching role.
Addo assured that despite not being directly on the committee, Kwasi Appiah will play a pivotal role in the decision-making process.
As a member of the GFA Executive Council, Appiah will participate in the deliberations and decision-making before the final announcement of the new coach.
“Kwasi Appiah, as a member of the GFA EXCO, will be part of the deliberations and decision-making before we announce a new coach,” stated Addo.
The establishment of the committee follows the dismissal of Chris Hughton in the aftermath of Ghana’s disappointing performance at the AFCON 2023 tournament, underscoring the GFA’s commitment to identifying a capable leader to guide the Black Stars forward.
