Kwabena Yeboah re-elected as SWAG President, new faces emerge in SWAG leadership

The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) recently held elections for its leadership positions.

Out of 266 eligible voters, 193 participated in the e-voting process. Incumbent President Kwabena Yeboah retained his seat uncontested.

The Vice President position saw Evelyn Nsiah Asare winning, becoming the first female Vice President of the Association. Charles Osei Asibey remained the General Secretary unopposed.

The Deputy General Secretary role was contested, and Kenneth Odeng Adade secured it. Two unopposed positions, Treasurer and Women’s Commissioner, were filled by Owuraku Nsiah and Mavis Amanor, with Mavis being the first woman in this role.

Four Executive Committee members were elected, with Tilda Elinam Accorlor, Augustine Ohene-Bampoe Brenya, and Franklin Anane emerging as the successful candidates.

SWAG Elections Committee chairman Mawuko Afadzinu congratulated all involved for their participation and professionalism during the process.
