Kurt Okraku is marking his four-year anniversary in office as the President of the Ghana Football Association today.
Kurt was elected to head Ghana football on October, 25 in 2019.
He took over ftom the Normalization Committee who oversaw the running of football after the FA was dissolved following Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ investigative piece.
During the four years, the football governing body has chalked some successes including the qualification to the 2022 World Cup having missed out on the previous edition in Russia.
The attainment of a headline sponsors for the Ghana Premier League and Women’s Premier League are pluses as well.
But it is devoid of downturns including the embrassing exit at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, failure of the CHAN team at the tournament in Morocco and the ban of the Black Maidens by FIFA for age cheating.
However, he still secured an overwhelming 117 votes out of 120 candidates available at the Elective Congress in Tamale, running unopposed.
