Ghana Football Association President and CAF Second Vice-President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has chaired the inaugural meeting of FIFA’s Anti-Racism and Anti-Discrimination Committee in Doha.
The landmark session took place on December 16, 2025, bringing together senior football administrators from across the globe.
As head of the 22-member body, Simeon-Okraku delivered the keynote address, setting out the committee’s vision, core priorities and long-term objectives.
The committee stands as one of FIFA’s key governance organs, tasked with advising on policy direction and recommending reforms to combat racism in football.
It will operate over a four-year mandate, focusing on the prevention, investigation and resolution of discrimination-related incidents worldwide.
Under Simeon-Okraku’s leadership, the committee is expected to strengthen FIFA’s stance on human rights, inclusion and equality.
Its work will also emphasise education, awareness and institutional accountability across member associations and competitions.
The committee features a diverse mix of experienced football leaders drawn from every region of the world.
This global representation reflects FIFA’s intent to address racism and discrimination through inclusive and coordinated action.
The maiden meeting marks a significant step in FIFA’s ongoing efforts to promote fairness and respect within the global game.
