President of the Ghana Football Association and CAF’s 2nd Vice-President, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has continued his World Cup engagements in the United States with a working visit to the State of Maryland.
The visit took him to the Office of the Governor, where he met the Honourable Aruna Miller, Lieutenant Governor of Maryland, alongside Chief of Staff Geri Royals Byrd.
Discussions centred on areas of cooperation that could support Ghana’s participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The tournament will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The engagement forms part of a broader diplomatic drive by the GFA President to strengthen institutional partnerships ahead of the global event.
Key focus areas include logistics, operational planning, and fan engagement across host locations.
Ghana has been drawn in Group L and will open its campaign against Panama in Toronto.
The Black Stars will then face England in Boston before wrapping up the group stage against Croatia in Philadelphia.
The multi-city nature of Ghana’s fixtures presents logistical challenges that require early coordination.
The GFA believes sustained collaboration with partners in host states will be vital to ensuring a smooth and impactful World Cup campaign for the Black Stars.
