Mohammed Kudus says he is determined to add more defensive responsibility to his game as he begins a new chapter with Tottenham Hotspur.
The Ghana international joined Spurs from West Ham United last week in a £55 million transfer ; the first deal between the two London clubs since Scott Parker moved to White Hart Lane in 2011.
Kudus, who registered five goals and four assists in 35 Premier League appearances last season, made a bright start to his Spurs career with an assist on his debut in a pre-season win over Reading.
Speaking to Hayters TV, the former Right to Dream Academy star revealed he wants to be just as dependable defensively as he is going forward.
“In as much as I offer a lot offensively, defensively I want to be able to make the team feel like they can also depend on me,” he said.
“The full backs also need me in times like that, especially in games where we have to be defending sometimes, so it’s something I am bringing to the team.”
Kudus will continue his pre-season preparations with Spurs as he aims to cement his place and help the club push for success in the new campaign.
