Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus bounced back from a disappointing African Cup of Nations qualifier to score but got sent off in West Ham United’s heavy 4-1 defeat to Tottenham on Saturday.

The goal marked his second of the season, but it wasn’t enough to save West Ham from a crushing loss at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium during Matchday 8 of the English Premier League.

Kudus broke the deadlock in the 18th minute, but Dejan Kulusevski equalized before halftime.

Tottenham dominated the second half, with Yves Bissouma adding to the tally in the 52nd minute before Alphonse Areola scored an own goal three minutes later, increasing the lead.

Heung-Min Son sealed the win with a fourth goal in the 60th minute.

Kudus received a red card in the 86th minute for violent conduct, compounding West Ham’s misery.

The former Ajax player’s mixed performance reflected West Ham’s inconsistent season, leaving them searching for answers in the Premier League as they now sit with only eight points after eight games.
