Mohammed Kudus has disclosed that England defender Djed Spence has already sparked early banter ahead of Ghana’s World Cup showdown with the Three Lions.
The Tottenham midfielder said the exchange took place during a casual chat in the Spurs dressing room, adding an extra layer of intrigue to one of the most anticipated fixtures in Group L.
Ghana face England on 23 June in Boston, their second match of the tournament and a game expected to command global attention.
According to Kudus, Spence jokingly backed himself to keep the Ghanaian star quiet on the day.
“Djed Spence told me in the locker room he will pocket me when Ghana play England at the World Cup. Time will tell,” he told TNT Sports.
The Black Stars will kick off their campaign on 17 June against Panama in Toronto before shifting focus to the clash with England.
They will wrap up the group stage against Croatia on 27 June in Philadelphia, completing a tough run of fixtures.
