Black Stars head coach Otto Addo says he is open to the idea of playing Mohammed Kudus as a false nine for the senior national team.
The midfielder has excelled in that role for Ajax this season, scoring six goals in his last five appearances in all competitions for the Dutch giants.
Speaking to the media ahead of the game against Brazil, Addo confirmed that the role is part of the options they are considering for the 22 year old.
The manager recognized Kudus’ adaptability as a luxury but refused to give too much away in terms of tactics.
“We have all kinds of ideas for so many players besides Kudus. [False nine] could be an option but there are so many other options for him,” he said.
“Surely we won’t talk about tactical things before our matches or before the World Cup but anything can happen.
For me, it’s not a big surprise because we know him very well. I know him very well and I am just happy that he is now a part of the starting 11 at Ajax.”
Ghana are set to face Brazil in a high profile friendly at Stade Oceane in Le Harve on Friday before playing Nicaragua three days later in Spain.
